Allen's Hummingbird
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with Jeffrey pine
forest or with more than 7% mixed deciduous forest (Siskiyou Mtns.).
Where neither occurred, it was present mostly in hexagons with
relatively warm temperatures (April minimum temperature [hex. med.]
of 5-6� C). The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative
association with Douglas-fir - white fir - tanoak - madrone mixed
forest, Sitka spruce - w. hemlock maritime forest, and-to a lesser
degree-Douglas-fir - Port Orford cedar forest, Jeffrey pine forest, and
the extent of public land.
